The lab technician will provide support for lab teaching courses, and assist in maintaining, developing, and operating the laboratories of NYUSH as directed and will report to the Director of Laboratories.   The main responsibilities include: Lab course support 50(%) - Assist in the preparation of laboratory courses. Prepare lab equipment, material and supplies as requested by the lab teaching faculty; - Be on-call when lab courses are in session and provide emergency response support for instructors in the event of accidents; - Set up and maintain laboratory equipment, check and calibrate lab equipment in a regular base; - Cleanup laboratories after the course and maintain labs in a safe and organized status for all time. Lab safety (10%) - Take sufficient training and certification in safety, and get qualified for related lab operations; - Participate safety trainings, operations and audit as needed; - Maintain laboratory safety equipment (i.e. eyewashes, extinguishers, first-aid kits etc.) and ensure safety equipment is functional and fully supplied; - Observe laboratory operations and bring any security and safety concerns to the attention of the Director of Laboratories. Facility work in the lab (20%) - Collaborate with Facilities and Property Management for infrastructure problems; - Interface with ATS for teaching technology problems, updates and new installation. Lab operations (20%) - Take charge of small infrastructure and facility upgrade projects; - Interface with end-user Procurement, Facilities, Property management team and vendors to proceed projects and meet the requirement of end-user; - Interface with Public Safety, EHS, Risk Management and other internal departments for lab related matters; - Perform other relevant lab support duties.

The Assistant Director, Admissions is based in Shanghai, China and is an integral member of the international admissions team. The Assistant Director, reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, will recruit extensively in assigned regions of the world (USA and international), build/nurture relationships with high schools, conduct outreach to new international students for NYU Shanghai, review applications for admission to NYU Shanghai and work closely with on-campus partners for event planning and management, and oversee the student ambassador and campus tour program. Faculty Services Associates are key members of the Faculty Services Center, affiliated to the Office of Faculty Affairs. NYU Shanghai Library is seeking an enthusiastic Instructional Video Editor to join our Research and Instructional Technology Services (RITS) unit. Embedded in the NYU Shanghai Library, this unit supports technology integration in teaching, learning, and research at NYU Shanghai. The unit also works closely with its counterparts at NYU New York and NYU Abu Dhabi.   The specialist will be responsible for the production and post-production of a range of instructional video modules for both online and blended learning. Responsibilities include the development of instructional design modules and content in collaboration with faculty across the university, with a focus on the NYU Shanghai Mini Course Project.  The main responsibilities include:  Video production and post-production (50%) - Assist NYU Shanghai in developing instructional video production workflows, processes, and strategies for online learning. Plan, design, and produce instructional video modules, including storyboards, editing, and management of content and workflows, using the latest equipment and software. Liaise with faculty and students (25%) - Liaise with faculty, students, and researchers in the development, production, and post-production of instructional video modules.  Working with team and project members (25%) - Work collaboratively with other video editors and project members to ensure consistency and accuracy of the video production.   KEY TASKS - Plan production and post-production of instructional video modules, including recording, editing, and management of video content and workflows, using the latest software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci, etc.;  - Conduct course-related research and planning regards the inclusion of relevant materials and content within online courses; - Work closely with technical staff, interns, and students in the production of content. - Work under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects. The rich projects would give our staff a long term, multifaceted opportunity for career development.   We welcome outstanding graduates to apply for the position: Personnel with any of the following background knowledge is a plus: - Electronic circuit / electronic component - Computer hardware and software  - Audio video devices    The main responsibilities mainly includes but not limited to:    Equipment Management and Maintenance (30%)  - Support of the Equipment Center, system, equipment and related resources, as well as ensure the protection of equipment and devices through oversight of regular maintenance.   - Report of the status of equipment and materials on a regular basis.  - Responsibility for the day to day services, maintenance, and inventory of all equipment, tools and supplies on a regular basis to ensure they are in good working order.  - Assist faculty members in preparation of teaching and instructional materials/equipment, including but not limited to audio visual aids, materials, tools, equipment etc.  - Work with students and faculty in the training and use of equipment and resources.  - Develop and maintain guidelines and SOPs of using resources and equipment etc.  - Be responsible for the day to day support and maintenance of all equipment and devices. This includes, but not limited to: - Digital media and audio/visual equipment (e.g. wireless microphone, speaker, webcam, projector, camera, headset etc.)  - Various hardware and software, computers, printers and scanners etc. - Various electronics components, sensors, boards etc. (e.g. transistor, resistor, capacitor, motor, LED, diode, buzzer, breadboard, etc.)    Technology Support for Teaching and Learning (30%)  - Maintain existing technology services and solutions (including classroom support, general equipment, etc.) as well as new services development.  - Propose technical solutions to improve the audio-visual equipment in classrooms.  - Prepare and set up the classrooms as well as implement classroom daily preventative maintenance checks before commencement of class.. - Participate in classroom demonstration and instruction as required by daily operations of our classes. - Create, update and maintain equipment user guide. Assist faculty/students in the use of equipment, devices and other internal systems etc. - Provide desktop support, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, hardware, software, computer and operating systems etc.   Daily Operation Support ​ ​(30%)  - Support the daily operation during routine hours, as well as occasional additional events.  - Perform daily maintenance routines to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive space and classroom environment.  - Respond to all user-requests to resolve the issues timely and effectively.   - Provide on-site technology support and services for daily class and program-related events including supplies, equipment, critical sample storage, program level events etc.  - Support different teams with technology projects and events. - Work closely and cooperate with different departments as well as third party vendors to support / meet daily requirements of operations and courses etc. Eg. Facilities, IT, Finance, Procurement, vendors, etc. - Interface with Facilities, Property Management and Public Safety etc. for infrastructure, risk management and other internal departments for curriculum and program related requests etc. Act as a HSE coordinator to ensure smooth and safe operations.  Program-Related Procurement (10%)  - Assist in daily procurement needs. - Process purchasing and maintenance of equipment and components etc.
