Reporting directly to the Director, the assistant director of the center will play a key role in the administration and strategic development of the Shanghai Frontiers Science Center of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning at NYU Shanghai. This position requires an experienced professional with a deep understanding of AI research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and administrative leadership. The successful candidate will contribute to the center's growth by overseeing administrative operations, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting strategic initiatives.   The main responsibilities include:   Administrative Leadership (20%): - Work closely with the directorto formulate and execute a comprehensive development plan for the center, aligning with NYU Shanghai’s strategic goals and expectation of the sponsor of the center; - Collaborate with the director and key center faculty members to develop and implement administrative policies, procedures, and best practices; - Provide leadership in the administrative operations of the center and oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and management of center researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and staff members. Network Development and Stakeholder Engagement (20%): - Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including center sponsors, advisory board members, faculty members, researchers, students, and industry partners; - Contribute to the identification and pursuit of collaborative opportunities with industry partners, government agencies, and other relevant research institutions; - Assume a leadership role in representing the center in university meetings, conferences,external forums, and foster growth, visibility, and sustained success of the center. Financial Oversight (20%): - Oversee the center's budget, ensuring responsible allocation of funds and strict adherence to financial policies; - Manage and supervise the finance administration of the center, guaranteeing the proper and effective use of funds; - Proactively explore, identify, and secure additional funding opportunities to catalyze the sustained growth and development of the center.  Project and Event Management (20%): - Build and coordinate vibrant research projects in related areas within the center and developstrong and interdisciplinary collaborations both internally and externally; - Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among research teams, contributing to the successful progression of various research projects; - Oversee the organization of a diverse range of center events, including conferences, seminars, and guest talks, fostering a vibrant intellectual environment. Facilities Development and Resource Management (20%): - Oversee the enhancement of the center's physical resources, encompassing laboratories, equipment, and technology infrastructure, with a particular focus on renovating and developing existing office and research spaces; - Collaborate with relevant vendors to procure necessary equipment, such as High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, and ensuring the establishment of a cutting-edge environment; - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement sustainable practices that contribute to the proper use and long-term efficiency of the center's spaces and facilities.

Faculty Services Associates are key members of the Faculty Services Center, affiliated to the Office of Faculty Affairs. Office of Faculty Affairs oversees a variety of administrative support to academic areas/programs and serves as the resource center to individual faculty members through their whole lifecycle in the university, from hiring, training, on/off-boarding to daily support. The selected candidate will join the Office of Faculty Affairs during a critical time of development and transformation and will have the opportunity to contribute impactfully to the management of specialized programs designed for enhancing faculty’s work experience and streamlining cross-departmental collaborations. The Assistant Director, Admissions is based in Shanghai, China and is an integral member of the international admissions team. NYU Shanghai Library is seeking an enthusiastic Instructional Video Editor to join our Research and Instructional Technology Services (RITS) unit. Embedded in the NYU Shanghai Library, this unit supports technology integration in teaching, learning, and research at NYU Shanghai. The unit also works closely with its counterparts at NYU New York and NYU Abu Dhabi.   The specialist will be responsible for the production and post-production of a range of instructional video modules for both online and blended learning. Responsibilities include the development of instructional design modules and content in collaboration with faculty across the university, with a focus on the NYU Shanghai Mini Course Project.  The main responsibilities include:  Video production and post-production (50%) - Assist NYU Shanghai in developing instructional video production workflows, processes, and strategies for online learning. Plan, design, and produce instructional video modules, including storyboards, editing, and management of content and workflows, using the latest equipment and software. Liaise with faculty and students (25%) - Liaise with faculty, students, and researchers in the development, production, and post-production of instructional video modules.  Working with team and project members (25%) - Work collaboratively with other video editors and project members to ensure consistency and accuracy of the video production.   KEY TASKS - Plan production and post-production of instructional video modules, including recording, editing, and management of video content and workflows, using the latest software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro X, DaVinci, etc.;  - Conduct course-related research and planning regards the inclusion of relevant materials and content within online courses; - Work closely with technical staff, interns, and students in the production of content. - Work under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects. Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise, and deal with stakeholders in a timely manner; - Assist NYU Shanghai in developing video production workflows, processes, and strategies for online learning, with an emphasis on the use of current and emerging technology and techniques including day-to-day use of recording equipment, lighting, editing, and innovative software components, such as in-video assessment and video annotation; - Work closely with university faculty and staff at all levels in consultation, collaboration, and partnership on the development of innovative online instructional content; - Deliver training in video tools and services.
