The Associate Director, Marketing and Communications for Enrollment Management is a Shanghai-based marketing leader who drives strategic marketing plans for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at NYU Shanghai and furthers the primary goal of attracting and enrolling future students, in partnership with the University's central Enrollment Management division. The successful candidate is fully bilingual in English and Mandarin, and is an independent and critical thinker with experience in leading data-driven, marketing strategies across a wide-variety of channels – print, digital, paid media, PR, and social media, and in developing and executing high caliber on and off-campus events.
The Associate Director will report to the NYU Shanghai Admissions office in Shanghai and the marketing team in New York and will liaise with the NYU Shanghai University Communications team, ensuring that marketing plans are well-integrated and support both NYU Shanghai’s China-specific and global outreach. This role will manage two professional staff members, one who is charged with executing creative concepts, and one who is responsible for the visitor experience on campus.
The main responsibilities include:
- Work with NY based enrollment management marketing team to provide visionary and operational leadership in communication strategy for recruitment, enrollment, financial aid, and new student transition through initiatives that are contemporary, on brand message, relevant, and serve to provide greater visibility of the university to prospective students;
- Design strategic, goal based, data-driven marketing and communications plans targeting the Chinese and global audience in alignment with the vision of the university, and undergraduate admissions. Drive the implementation of the plan across multiple channels, website, social media, and other digital platforms, collateral development, and advertising;
- Plan and execute efforts that deliver effective culturally relevant communication to prospective first-year and transfer students, their families, influencers such as school counselors and transfer advisors, and other stakeholders that elevate the NYU Shanghai brand;
- Convey the value proposition of NYU Shanghai including degree outcomes to ensure consistent and thoughtful messaging. Increase prospective student engagement from prospect through matriculation. Leverage the richness of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni in storytelling;
- Leverage technology utilizing a variety of platforms and mediums including best practices in social media, web design/development integration, email, demand generations and others within higher education and preferably enrollment management with an eye to the future. Evaluate and assess the use of technology, both current, and new, to maximize and track prospective student engagement;
- Cultivate data-driven, high-impact, and results-oriented marketing practices in order to enroll an increasingly high-achieving and diverse student body across academic disciplines. Strengthen partnerships to develop multi-year messaging designed to generate a diverse undergraduate applicant pool, manage enrollment, and support students particularly through matriculation;
- Establish metrics-oriented accountability through analytics to ensure continuous improvement of activities and alignment with enrollment goals;
- Collaborate with University Communications and other internal stakeholders to create, refine, implement, and direct a university-wide comprehensive marketing communications effort for undergraduate admissions;
- Manage budget and coordinate with enrollment management leaders to effectively use resources to meet current and future marketing and communication needs. Adapt to changing operating conditions and resource availability. Oversee internal and external key vendor relationships to ensure maximum performance from purchased services and to track effectiveness;
- Oversee NYU Shanghai Welcome Center operation. Plan and execution of large-scale virtual and in-person events, both on-campus and in various locations in China;
- Lead, direct, mentor, and motivate the Undergraduate Admissions Marketing and Communications unit composed of 2 direct reports;

The NYU Institute for Cities and Real Estate in Emerging Markets at NYU Shanghai (‘ICREEM’) is a newly established, world-leading educational and research center on cities and real estate in emerging markets, with support from visionary industry leaders.
The Admissions and Marketing Manager will play a critical role in conceptualizing, developing, executing, and managing strategic marketing and communication strategies that enhance effective recruitment efforts and increase overall number and quality of the applicant pool and reinforce the ICREEM and its programs' brand awareness in China and globally.
The Manager will perform core admissions and recruitment efforts in addition to developing enhanced email marketing capacity, CRM and associated analytics, partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to the communication and outreach efforts and deliver a cohesive message and brand across all public-facing platforms including digital, print, web, email, video, social media, digital advertising campaigns and virtual and in-person recruitment events.
The main responsibilities include:
Develop and execute full-funnel marketing and communications strategy (lead generation through enrollment) (50%)
- Develop all China-specific and global marketing efforts to increase quality leads for ICREEM Master’s programs and professional development programs;
- Build partnerships with student associations, professional counterparties and agencies, and leading companies and associations in the Real Estate industry in China and globally to maximize the outreach plan and lead generation potential;
- Design and execute all admissions email communication and campaigns using the graduate admissions office CRM (Slate);
- Strategize, write, design, and format marketing assets for social media platforms, email communication and admitted students’ portal;
- Review ICREEM’s website and public-facing pages to ensure accurate, timely content and liaise with the Operations Specialist to make edits while adhering to institutional branding guidelines;
- Develop and manage the technical execution of all outreach campaigns (targeting unique populations and prospects with different academic interests) with a third-party partner and in-house, exploring new ways of updating content and making it dynamic and engaging;
- Create, coordinate, strategize, and execute social media communication plans. Work with third-party agencies to implement media advertising, track success, and maintain engagement with students throughout the application process;
- Develop content for admissions marketing materials, such as presentations, social media posts and other materials. This includes sourcing and creating original content for marketing materials from alumni and current students, faculty and other internal stakeholders;
- Track ongoing market trends to inform strategies, channels and messaging and explore new ways to develop and deliver content;
Core admissions functions (50%)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for admissions inquiries and consultations, providing in-depth information on admissions requirements, prerequisite courses, program resources and curriculum, scholarships, and career development resources;
- Plan and execute on- and off-campus in-person and virtual recruitment and yield events, conducting information sessions, participating in recruiting events and panels, and in internal discussions regarding enrollment management;
- Organize meetings and interviews for Admission Review Committee to evaluate applications;
- Analyze admissions and event data, create reports for program and school-wide use; evaluate the effectiveness of current recruitment strategies and make recommendations for improvements;
- Manage the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events, both on-campus and in various locations in China and globally.
The Specialist for Communications and Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for supporting various communications-related affairs and strategic initiatives within the Office of Graduate and Advanced Education (OGAE). The OGAE promotes education beyond the undergraduate level at NYU Shanghai by overseeing the formation and management of programs offering master’s, professional, and doctoral degrees, plus other non-degree programs. At all times, he/she will need to be an effective advocate for graduate education within the NYU Shanghai community and embody the standard of excellence the university expects of its graduate initiatives.

- Develop and promote the adoption of best practices for the presentation, promotion, and organization of OGAE information, programs, and stories;

Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement culturally appropriate initiatives, programs and resources in areas of stress management, alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, nutrition, and healthy relationships;
- Oversee the coordination of large-scale programs (i.e. Love Your Body Week, Wellness Expo, etc.);

The Associate, Research Center will mainly support NYUSH-ECNU Center on Global History, Economy and Culture (上海纽约大学-华东师范大学全球历史·经济·文化研究中心) in handling Center daily operation, maintaining its website, supporting delivery of Center programs including conferences, distinguished lectures, seminar series and other on-going Center events and key initiatives.
The main responsibilities include:
Provide administrative support to the Center (40%)
- Act as Center staff, execute administration duties for the Center, including seminars & visitors support, information collection and update, contact database maintenance, handle Center related payments & procurements;
- Support promotion of the Center by focusing on its news, faculty stories, research highlights, feature talks, , and produce contents based on information collected and desk based research;
- Support other duties designated by NYUSH-ECNU Joint Research Institute director.
Support Center programs (conferences, distinguished lectures, seminar series, and other key Center initiatives etc.) sponsored by the Center (40%)
- Assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of the programs, and contribute to the overall success of Center-sponsored programs;
- Act as a liaison to administrative functions of the programs and work with co-workers, other departments and vendors on details of program delivery;
- Help draft programs related marketing materials (including posters, booklets, and etc.) according to requirements of relevant stake holders;
- Help draft, translate and proof read Center-sponsored program-related materials, and conduct desk searches based on specific needs of the programs.
Support the Center in daily administration (10%)
- Support the Center in dealing with day-to-day administration management as necessary, e.g.: setting up meetings, taking meeting minutes, filing, drafting letters, and etc.;

Support effective communication and cooperation between the NYUSH and ECNY parts of the Center (10%)
- Serve on behalf of the NYUSH part of the Center in maintaining basic communication and record-keeping with the ECNU part of the Center.
NYU Shanghai has an immediate opening for a laboratory technician to provide laboratory support. The lab technician will assist in maintaining, developing, and operating the laboratories of NYUSH as directed and will report to the Director of Laboratories.
The main responsibilities include:
Lab safety (30%)
- Assist Director of Laboratories, develop and implement laboratory safety operation rules and polices, related training and certification programs;
- Follow supervision from Director of Laboratories, organize safety trainings, operations and authorize certifications to related personnel;
- Collaborate with EHS, organize safety audit for laboratories in university wide;
- Work with faculty, staff and students in labs, perform safe lab operation and research.
- Observe laboratory operations and bring any security and safety concerns to the attention of the Director of Laboratories.
Laboratory Operation and facility works (30%)

Lab Documentation (20%)
- Collect and document operation and safety information of university laboratories;

Chemical management (10%)
- Collaborate with EHS, perform lifelong management of hazardous chemicals in all laboratories, including purchase, receive, stock, usage, and disposal;

The academic associate's primary role is to support faculty in their teaching and perform administrative tasks in the Academic Affairs office. Meanwhile, the associate will also work with offices both within and out of the Academic Affairs Department to plan and implement various academic programs as assigned.

Academic Programming
- Work closely with offices within the Academic Affairs Department to design and implement workshops and other academic-related activities;
- Liaise with various campus offices to plan and execute co-curricular activities and other major academic initiatives;

Faculty Teaching Support

The Assistant Director, Admissions is based in Shanghai, China and is an integral member of the international admissions team. The Assistant Director, reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, will recruit extensively in assigned regions of the world (USA and international), build/nurture relationships with high schools, conduct outreach to new international students for NYU Shanghai, review applications for admission to NYU Shanghai and work closely with on-campus partners for event planning and management, and oversee the student ambassador and campus tour program. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for responding to incoming inquiries from prospective applicants to NYU Shanghai and managing our year-round virtual sessions.

General Admissions (50%)
- Conduct outreach within the United States and internationally to promote NYU Shanghai and recruit potential students;
- Become an expert on examinations and grading scales of assigned regions;
- Conduct specialized workshops, information sessions and school visits targeting international applicants;
- Represent NYU Shanghai at regional events with stakeholder audiences, such as counselor events, conferences and exhibitions;
- Review large numbers of international applications for admission to NYU Shanghai.
Manage the Student Ambassador Program (30%)
- Oversee the international student ambassador program from hiring, training, programming, etc. and actively consider the structure of the program and the needs of the Undergraduate Admissions office;

- Host NYU Shanghai virtual bi-weekly information sessions and virtual weekly one-to-one coffee chats;

Shanghai New York University (NYU Shanghai) seeks to appoint a Wellness Counselor. The Wellness Counselor will provide clinical assessment, short-term psychotherapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention and case management to the NYU Shanghai student community in accordance with established standards and professional ethics.
The main responsibilities include:
- Provides outstanding clinical services, case management and referrals; collaborates with other clinical providers and consults with the NYUSH and NYU New York counseling services team on mental health issues
- Collaborates with student affairs professionals at NYUSH who are responsible for other aspects of student health
- Liaise with faculty and administrators to best serve the mental health needs of NYUSH students
- Builds close working relationships with external mental health providers (including psychiatrists) and other medical professionals from whom NYUSH students seek care
- Maintains case records, notes, and closing summaries on all clients treated. Ensures standards of care at NYUSH are aligned with those at NYU New York
- Conducts clinical assessment interviews to evaluate the seriousness of problems and concerns including, but not limited to, alcohol and other drug use and assessment of eating disorders

- Under the clinical supervision of the NYU Assistant Director of Global Clinical Services, make recommendations for hospitalization and leaves of absences and, at the request of the Dean of Students, participates in the evaluation of students’ readiness to return from leaves of absence
- Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment and support teams and collaborates with student health professionals at the Student Health Center and Wellness Exchange at NYU in New York
