Position Summary

The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) at NYU Shanghai offers a range of noncredit courses for professionals, students, and the general public. We are currently seeking a Program Intern to assist with program operations. The Program Intern will work primarily with the Program Manager in administering day-to-day operational functions, and the Program Assistant to help administer the NYUSPS at NYU Shanghai High School Academy (HSA). This person will also work closely with other members of the NYUSPS team in both Shanghai and New York.


Main Responsibilities include:

  • Aid the Program Assistant of NYUSPS at NYU Shanghai High School Academy (HSA) with HSA operational functions such as application processing, off-site activity scheduling, faculty support, student resources, activity outcomes, program ceremonies etc.
  • Maintain databases and spreadsheets used for registration, outreach, and other program-related items for NYUSPS at NYU Shanghai HSA.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Required Education

  • Undergraduate or Graduate student


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possess excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Have the ability to follow directions and multi-task well under time constraints.
  • Be able to work independently and take initiative.
  • Possess computer knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
  • Feel comfortable interacting with diverse groups.



  • Proficiency in Mandarin (preferred, but not required).
  • Have experience working in an office setting.
  • Possess additional computer software and database knowledge.
  • Have experience working in higher education and/or program development.


Preferred Start Date/Duration

  • This position is for hire beginning Monday, February 26, 2018 working through Friday August 3, 2018.
  • Hours for this position are flexible, 10-20 hours/week or as needed. Hours can be scheduled based on a candidate’s availability and program needs.
