NYU Shanghai Library is seeking a Emerging Technologies Associate to join our Research and Instructional Technology Services (RITS) unit. Embedded in the NYU Shanghai Library, this unit supports innovation and emerging technology integration in teaching, learning and research at NYU Shanghai. The unit also works closely with its counterparts in NYU New York and NYU Abu Dhabi.
The Emerging Technologies Associate will focus on cloud-based development, using related approaches and methods. Overseeing the smooth operation and hosting of the online learning platform. Develop educational A.I. (LLMs / Chatbots) applications through API integration and cloud or local hosting. The purpose of the position is to assist with innovative engagement, emerging technologies, and to facilitate the development of rich immersive mobile and web content within the Mini Course online course initiative at NYU Shanghai. The Developer helps in the design and implementation of UX and interactivity within course content and will work closely with the RITS Digital Studio team. The Emerging Technologies Associate oversees student workers and interns towards maintenance and development of local solutions. A key supporting role of the position is to work closely with the Library team and faculty in the pursuit of custom solutions to innovative teaching and learning initiatives. Ability to work to deadlines and provide professional documentation for the upkeep of RITS assets, servers, applications and accounts. The position will oversee related server and backend technologies as well as ensure relevant sites are smooth running and accessible to users.
